Streaming studio

Most creators rely on clunky tools like OBS or StreamYard. We built something simpler—a web-based studio that let them go live, manage hosts, and engage, all in one place.

There's more to this designer than meets the viewport.

This wasn't even in the wireframe. You still found it? Awesome.

Overview

It took just under three months to design and build StreamCast from the ground up. I focused heavily on interaction design and usability, especially for non-technical creators who needed something intuitive and frictionless. Collaborated closely with engineers to ensure low-latency streaming and responsive UI performance.

Role

Crafted the experience and the interface end-to-end

some core features

A sleek, glassmorphic dropdown makes adjusting audio, video, and layout smooth and distraction-free.

Personalize chat readability with font size controls tailored to different screen setups, stream in 16:9, 9:16, or 4:3 to match different platforms and viewer preferences, adjust chat speed to filter messages or keep up with a fast-moving audience.

built for wider reach

Stream directly to external platforms like YouTube and Twitch with a simple RTMP setup. No complicated configs—just drop in your stream key and go live in seconds.

make it look and feel right

We didn’t overload creators with charts—they get only what they need, right when they need it. Real-time engagement, viewer drop-offs, and chat spikes are surfaced as cues to guide what to do next: pause, push, or pivot.

StreamCast became a key differentiator in how Crater pitched to creators—and to potential acquirers. It led to increased streamer sign-ups and engagement, and was a highlight during acquisition conversations with platforms like Loco.
